The Maine Cat 41's are loved for their open bridgedeck with hard top and full enclosure for great ventilation, excellent visibility and the ability to close it all up for weather.
Island Breeze , Hull #23, was launched in September 2016 and may be the best equipped MC 41 ever launched by the factory. She has just returned this Spring from a 2 month cruise in the Bahamas is now conveniently located in Cape Coral, FL.
MC 41's exhibit a good turn of speed and generally outsail the basic charter cats we've become accustomed to.
She's got twin diesel engines, Linear Drive Autopilot, Color GPS chartplotter, radar, VHF and a watermaker. She has a bowsprit to run a screecher sail. She has a Mackpack mainsail cover with a Lazy Jack system. Great ground tackle, excellent power system including large solar panel array, electric windlass and she's even got an electric winch, for easy and short handed sailing.
She points high when going to windward with her twin daggerboards down and flies on a broad reach with boards up.
Her interior accomodations are excellent with the starborad hull as owner's suite with massive owners berth, and the port hull has a well equipped galley with an equally large VIP berth. She has two composting heads plus 2 crew berths.
If you are looking for super well equipped and easy to sail shallow draft vessel with a good turn of speed that will be perfect for warm weather sailing and can handle the cooler waters of Maine and beyond once the salon is enclosed, you owe it to yourself to check out our 2016 Maine Cat 41 here in sunny Florida.
The Design:
Designer's Note: "My first goal was to make the 41 a good sailboat. The average 40-footer on the market today has hulls with the length-to-beam ratios that are about 8:1. Our ratio is 10.5:1. Because she's finer, she has reduced wetted surface and is thus more easily driven."
Maine Cat boats have no liners or structural grids. There's no wood in them,
not in bulkheads or decks. The only wood is in the doors and interior trim. All assemblies are vaccum-bagged Corecell composites. According to Vermeulen, a Maine Cat 41 equipped to cruise weights 14,000 pounds, which allows for a realistic cruisng payload before it reaches its design displacement of 19,200 pounds.
Accomodations

The Maine Cat is the only 41 foot production-built cruising catamaran in the world that provides outstanding sailing and motoring performance, huge payload capacity (7200 pounds) and a unique open bridgedeck design that transforms the entire bridgedeck area into a protected pilothouse. The unique open bridgedeck design is simply a better solution than the typical "floating condo" cat bridgedeck cabin arrangement, and provides superior visibility from the helm with exceptional ventilation throughout the main salon platform.
