Additional Description
The Beneteau 473 has a reputation for its solid feel and sleek hull shape which leads to superb sailing performance. People who have sailed a 473 in heavy seas are delighted with the sea-kindliness and steady motion. The cockpit is large and safe, dual helms allow for good control on either tack and for docking, while freeing up the center of the cockpit for the crew; wide side decks & good hand holds on the coach roof allow safe passage to the bow. Cool Change is a 2 cabin-2 head vessel and has an interior that is laid out for optimum 'livability'. It has a spacious galley to starboard of the companionway; nav station with good access to electronics & electrical panel, a very comfortable salon and large forward/master cabin with centerline berth & en-suite head.
Cool Change is currently cruising in the US Virgin Islands and is scheduled to be back in the states by the end of June. She will be available for a new owner after July 1st. The current owner is willing to deliver her anywhere from Grenada to North Carolina.
Accommodations
The L-shaped galley runs along the starboard hull from just forward of the stairs to the aft bulkhead. It has Corian counter tops and provides plentiful workspace and storage. A top-opening freezer and front-opening fridge & oven are situated along the hull-side. Cabinets & drawer storage above and below counter level. The microwave oven is recessed into the aft bulkhead. Through the bulkhead at the rear of the galley is a door that leads into the cockpit locker, which can serve as extra pantry storage.
The aft cabin is to port of the companionway & has a large double berth & storage locker. Forward of that is the aft head which can be accessed from the cabin or from the salon. Between the head and the port settee is the forward-facing nav station with ergonomically friendly seat that has ample storage. The nav station has the electrical panel to port and electronics strategically positioned for easy-monitoring of the vessel systems.
The salon consists of a large U-shaped dinette to starboard and a settee to port. The table lowers to form a double berth and has a leaf which can be removed, but in place it allows seating for 6. Upholstery is Tommy Bahama fabric. Overhead fixed windows provide light and numerous hatches provide ventilation.
The door to the forward/master cabin is offset to port. The cabin has plentiful storage - port and starboard and under the bunk. It has three opening hatches for light and ventilation. The head is to starboard and has a flush electric toilet, basin & vanity & separate shower stall.
